PPF vs ceramic coating in Abu Dhabi, still can't decide

I've been going back and forth for weeks now between paint protection film and ceramic coating for my new Lexus and I'm no closer to a decision. Everyone I ask gives me a different answer, one guy says ceramic is enough if you just want shine and easier washing, another says it won't do anything against stone chips which is my main worry on the Abu Dhabi to Dubai run. I was trying to understand what the actual installation involves for PPF and I ended up reading https://paintprotectionfilm.ae/car-ppf-installation-in-abu-dhabi-process/ which broke down the steps pretty clearly, but it also made me realize how much prep work is involved and now I'm wondering if ceramic alone might be the simpler route. The thing is my car is white so swirl marks and yellowing would bother me a lot, and I keep hearing that some films can yellow after a few years in this heat. Is that still true with the newer films? And if I do go with PPF, can I put ceramic on top of it or is that overkill? I don't want to spend on both if it's unnecessary. Also, for anyone in Abu Dhabi, did you find the whole process took longer than expected? I was quoted two days but a friend said his shop kept the car for almost a week because they were busy. Just trying to figure out what's normal before I commit to anything.
